Talk Box
We would like to introduce you to a “Talk Box”. It is used to share information and achievements from home in a very child friendly manner. The following is one that Lenny has made, he loves to share it!
First he found a shoe box, he decorated it with the help of his sister Lola. He has used paper that interests him. Then Lenny filled his box with things he likes, reminders of his weekend or important events.
His Tsum Tsum Stitch reminded Lenny of a wedding he went to in the summer, he lost it in June and it magically reappeared last week!
This is Lenny’s Rescue Bot, he loves it and enjoyed telling us about it’s antics on T.V.
Lenny loves an adventure, he showed us his map from the Flitch Way and an acorn he’d found. We were able to talk about where the acorn came from and changes in the trees and seasons.
Here he is demonstrating his writing! He said “This is a birthday card for Paula but she can’t have it until her next birthday!”
Lenny has and still enjoys sharing his Talk Box and he can add new items as he finds them. He is able to discuss his interests with an adult or his friends and the children are incredibly attentive and captivated with the bits and bobs he’s collected.
With this in mind we would love for you to make a Talk Box with your children, they are easy to do and the decorations can be anything you have available. Don’t worry about what to put in the box, the children will decide though a photo is often a good addition.
